Dear Stitchers
It seems no time since my last noosletter and I am still trying to formalize a list of classes; sourcing teachers is proving to be more difficult than I had anticipated, but I am getting there, so please be patient with me!
SUNDAY SESSIONS
We have now had 2 Sunday sessions and they are really good for those of you who would like to come and stitch with us.
This Sunday is Fathers Day and I think it would be great to move our Sunday opening to the following Sunday, September 13th from 10-2. Please come and join us in the shop for a stitch along or some retail therapy, either is good!
NOO PRODUCTS
There are some new linen colours just arrived, including the white sparkley fabric we have been waiting for. Our Lakeside Linens are proving very popular too, the colours are beautiful.
We have some exciting new designs arriving any day from a French designer, Dessins DHC, they are quite different from what we have in stock already and I think they will be very popular. The French designers love the monochrome work and many of these new designs are just that, very French!
There are other new designs on their way, more on these next time.
I have a small supply of the Mighty Bright Craft lights which are ideal if you are travelling, I have had mine for 3yrs now and it goes everywhere with me overseas. These little lights are also ideal in a classroom situation as they can work off batteries.
RECYCLED PATTERNS
We have a box in the shop for your pre-loved patterns, please look out those patterns you are either not going to stitch again, or are never going to stitch and put them into the box. Feel free at any time to help yourself from the box too, we have had some interesting additions in there, but they don’t hang around for long! One persons trash is another persons treasure!
MID WEEK STITCH ALONGS
Many of you will have noticed that Christy and Jess are both stitching on a Quaker Sampler and they have suggested that on a Tuesday afternoon from 1-3.30pm we run a Quaker Sampler group. Quaker samplers are very individual and give you the flexibility to choose your own design, your own threads and your own fabric. There are a lot of different designs available online and it is possible to mix and match with all the wonderful Quaker motifs. Feel free to come in and discuss your ideas with us and we’ll help you get started.
Friday morning seems to be developing into an unfinished project morning, why not bring something in and work at the table with us, we make a good cup of tea! So, 10-12.30 on Friday, mark it in your diaries.
We are currently working on our bar coding and scanning in the shop, so please bear with us as we become totally familiar with the system!!
Please remember that our shop hours are 10-4 Mon – Fri and 10-2 on Saturday, BUT I am very happy to arrive early or stay late, just give me a ring, 92277331.
Thanks
Ros, Christy, Jess and Emma
